Between The Pat McAfee Show being live on location Friday and College GameDay Saturday morning, ESPN hit the ground running in Boulder, Colorado over the weekend at Colorado University, as Deion Sanders and his Buffaloes hosted in-state rival Colorado State. It was clear the early success of the Sanders-led team captured the attention of many in the sports and music world.
Actor/WWE legend Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson first joined McAfee Friday, was the guest picker on GameDay and roamed the sidelines at Folsom Stadium Saturday night. Rappers Offset and Lil Wayne were also among the music stars present.
But in addition to that, ESPN pulled out the stops and produced top-notch content in many of the talent’s eyes. Analyst Lee Corso made the 400th headgear pick in the show’s history, and the network put together a fitting tribute to the GameDay tradition. It made Corso emotional as he reacted to the package and reflected on his run on the show.
Kirk Herbstreit felt like this was the best show they’ve put together so far.
After the show, host Rece Davis echoed Kirk’s sentiments.
Corso picked Colorado like everyone else on the desk did. The Buffaloes ended up needing double overtime in a high-scoring penalty fest to come away with the win over Colorado State.
