NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL in Lafayette, Louisiana, has a new voice for their morning show. Monday marked the first day for Tracy Wirtz at KPEL, where she will be anchoring news from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m.
“A moment of personal privilege here …. I am extremely delighted to have Tracy join us on NewsTalk 96.5,” Bernadette Lee wrote, welcoming her new colleague.
“I can’t think of another person who will be as impactful to the future of this news and talk station as my friend, Tracy Wirtz. Welcome aboard Tracy, and bring on your wisdom, tenacity, fire, and kindness to create an even brighter future for KPEL!”
Along with passing along the news to listeners, Wirtz will interview local and state newsmakers from various backgrounds. KPEL is also bringing in a veteran news anchor as she worked at KATC-TV3 and KLFY-TV, located in Lafayette.
As a result, Wirtz brings decades of knowledge about our local community and the political landscape in Acadiana and across our state.
