97.1 The Ticket has long had a stranglehold on the Detroit sports radio ratings, and the 2023 summer book shows not much has changed in the Motor City.
In weekday prime (M-F 6A-7P), the station finished 1st with an astounding 18.9 share in the Men 25-54 demographic. That figure represents an increase over the 13.8 rating it saw in the spring.
The station’s morning show, hosted by the soon-to-be-retiring Mike Stone, Jon Jansen, and Heather Park finished 2nd in the market with a 15.9 share. Stoney & Jansen finished the spring book in 2nd as well, but with a 12.3 share.
Karsch & Anderson — the station’s midday show hosted by Doug Karsch and Gator Anderson — topped the market with an 18.6 share. That number is up from the already impressive number it posted in the spring at 17.4.
The Mike Valenti Show with Rico remained the station’s top-ranked show. The afternoon pairing of Valenti and Rico Beard garnered an impressive 20.1 share, which was the exact same number the program delivered in the last ratings book, when it also finished 1st.
For the week, 97.1 The Ticket was also 1st with a 16.1 share, representing a rise from the 13.8 share it garnered in the previous quarter.
