Just over one year ago, 1210 WPHT host Rich Zeoli moved from mornings to afternoons on the Philadelphia news/talk station. He’s not disappointed with the change.
During The Rich Zeoli Show Monday, the longtime host noted all of the breaking news that took place directly before and during the show, including the news President Joe Biden would launch an account on Donald Trump’s Truth Social and the news that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was likely to be voted as Speaker of the House Tuesday.
He shared that is one of the advantages of hosting later in the day.
“A lot of stuff broke today while we were getting ready to go on the air. And that’s what often happens. It is why we love afternoon drive for that reason. Because things kind of have a tendency of doing that on this show,” said Zeoli.
In addition to seeing breaking news in the afternoon, Zeoli recently celebrated the success of his show’s podcast before its one-year anniversary. The Philadelphia host claimed it was approaching more than 2 million downloads since moving to afternoon drive in October of last year. Nick Kayal was tabbed to replace Zeoli in mornings, moving the station to an all-local lineup from 6 AM-7 PM.
