Salem Radio Network and NBC News are partnering for the next Republican Presidential Primary Debate, and the list of moderators has been released, with the radio network’s Hugh Hewitt getting a place at the desk.
Hewitt will be on hand alongside NBC News anchor Lester Holt and new Meet the Press moderator Kristen Welker. Holt made the announcement of the network’s plans during NBC Nightly News Wednesday.
The event will be held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and will start at 8 PM ET on Wednesday, November 8th.
Holt moderated the first Presidential primary in the 2020 election season in June 2019, while also moderating a debate from Las Vegas in 2020.
Welker moderated the final Presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden in October 2020. She also moderated a Democratic Presidential primary debate in November 2019.
Despite his status as a conservative radio host, Hugh Hewitt also has television debate moderating experience. In both 2015 and 2016, the Salem Radio Network host served on a panel of moderators for Republican primary debates that aired on CNN.
The November debate will be the first Republican Presidential Primary event to air on a network other than Fox News or Fox Business Network.
