Fred Toucher: Everyone in Kansas City Media Sucks

The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins played in one of the biggest regular-season games of the NFL year Sunday. However, the game took place in Germany, meaning it featured a 9:30 AM ET kickoff. 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb trashed the decision by the league.

“The NFL has to be pleased that one of the biggest matchups of the year happened before most people remembered to turn on their TVs,” Rich Shertenlieb said on Monday’s edition of Toucher & Rich.

The program played the call of the bad snap on fourth-and-10 from Kansas City Chiefs radio play-by-play announcer Mitch Holthus, who has served as the voice of the team since 1994.

Fred Toucher, co-host of the program, implored listeners to consider traveling to Kansas City to watch a game and stated how the Chiefs fans are congenial and welcoming. He has a different opinion, however, of the team’s media coverage and emphasized as such on the radio program.

“Calm down, just calm down,” Toucher said of Holthus after the show played a clip of the game’s most pivitol moment. “Everything in Kansas city media sucks. Chiefs fans are awesome…the fans are incredible…but the announcer (Holthus) sucks and like everyone in media there sucks.”
