WRKO AM 680 raised $172,852 during its eighth annual Disabled American Veterans Radiothon.
For 13 hours Friday, WRKO personalities hosted the event to support DAV, with Jeff Kuhner, Chuck Zodda, Mike Armstrong, Grace Curley, and Howie Carr each participating in the radiothon.
Since 2016, the station has raised more than $1 million for the homeless shelter and transportation programs for DAV.
“Year after year, The WRKO listeners overwhelm us with their generosity. This year, they have helped to raise $172,852 for the DAV of Massachusetts,” said iHeartMedia Boston Director of Operations, News, Talk, and Sports Bill Flaherty said. “It’s an honor to dedicate a day of Programming to those who have given so much of themselves for this country.”
Disabled American Veterans helps serve more than 1 million veterans each year in a variety of programs, including helping those in need of navigating the complex world of VA benefits.
