Ken Chiampou announced on Monday he was retiring from iHeartMedia Talk 640 KFI in Los Angeles. Furthermore, he’ll be leaving his longtime John & Ken Show co-host, John Kobylt, after 35 years on the air together.
KFI correspondent Steve Gregory noted that he owes a lot to the John & Ken Show. Before the program, Gregory stated that he used to be on one beat; however, the show allowed him to grow and work in different fields.
“I want to say, Ken, that’s been an absolute honor and pleasure to work with you,” Gregory said after Chiampou announced his retirement. “I want to go on the record now to say that I’ve been with KFI [for] almost 20 years, and The John and Ken Show opened a lot of doors for me out in the field.
“Remember when I first got here, I was on the immigration beat almost exclusively on the immigration beat and it was the John and Ken Show that really opened a lot of doors. So it’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with you.”
Chiampou will be retiring from KFI and the show on December 6th.
