Ken Carman: Andrew Fillipponi ‘Says a Lot of Incendiary Stuff’

92.3 The Fan in Cleveland has an ongoing segment during its morning show called “Around the AFC North”. It generally welcomes radio hosts and other media members from Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Cincinnati. The show’s host — Ken Carman — joked that he often doesn’t listen to what his Pittsburgh counterpart says during the segment.

During The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima Wednesday, Carman said that he sometimes tunes out what 93.7 The Fan afternoon host Andrew Fillipponi says on their program.

“Poni was on, Poni says a lot of incendiary things — almost said a lot of incendiary bleep,” Carman joked about nearly slipping up and using an expletive. “Poni says a lot of things get people going, so I kind of half-listened and half-not.”

The comments Fillipponi made claimed that the Pittsburgh Steelers wanted Deshaun Watson to be available for the Browns as the two teams face on Sunday. However, Watson was placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury Wednesday morning.

On 93.7 The Fan’s The PM Team featuring Fillipponi, the Pittsburgh host celebrated the injury, saying “He’s done…Let’s go! I am on cloud nine today. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy,” seemingly playing into the moniker Carman bestowed upon him.
