A rare collaboration between Barstool Sports and ESPN will take place Saturday. Popular Barstool personality PFT Commenter will be the Celebrity Guest Picker on College GameDay.
The program made the announcement on social media, which took many by surprise. PFT Commenter and his Pardon My Take partner Dan “Big Cat” Katz had a program — Barstool Van Talk — on ESPN in 2017 for one episode before it was abruptly canceled by the network due to internal pushback from female employees who claimed the digital company had a long history of misogyny.
PFT is a natural choice for College GameDay. The program will be on-site at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia Saturday. He is a graduate of the Sun Belt Conference university.
The inclusion of PFT Commenter on an ESPN program comes just days after the network launched its ESPN BET sports betting offering in conjunction with PENN Entertainment. The gambling company ended its longstanding relationship with Barstool Sports in order to launch its new service alongside ESPN.
