Damon Bruce Leading Sports Media Charge to Unfollow Oakland A’s on Social Media

The Oakland A’s plan to leave Oakland for a new stadium in Las Vegas became official on Thursday, and former 95.7 The Game host Damon Bruce is leading the way in the mass unfollowing of the team on social media.

Bruce has long been critical of A’s owner John Fisher and team president Dave Kaval, even challenging Kaval to a live debate.

But with the franchise officially giving up on Oakland, Bruce has been active and vocal in encouraging Oakland fans to unfollow the team’s Twitter/X and other social media accounts.

As of 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday, the A’s Twitter following was down to just over 607,000.

The A’s will make 2024 their farewell season in Oakland. It’s unclear what the team’s stadium situation will look like beyond that until their new building in Vegas is completed in time for the 2028 season.
