NewsNation host Chris Cuomo is venturing to Substack, where listeners can access part of The Chris Cuomo Project on the platform. Cuomo notes the reason for putting his content on Substack is to give his audience an ad-free experience.
Furthermore, the former CNN host confessed to not liking ads and preferring free content. However, he understands that bills must be paid, and the team that helps him with his content needs to earn a living.
“I also have a lot of high regard for the people who team up with us and sponsor us,” Cuomo said recently on The Chris Cuomo Project. “And that’s why I only will do ads and do them gladly for things that I use and believe in. Because if I’m using it, then obviously, I’m okay with it.
“And it’s great that they want to pay because I have a team to do this. I am doing it for free. But there’s a team that I got to support and things I got to pay. And that’s the reality of the news business, right? And that’s the beauty of the ad sponsorships.”
Listeners consuming Cuomo’s podcast on Substack will get a different program. He hopes to give them deep and meaningful access in an attempt to shift from the traditional journalism framework as Cuomo forms a relationship with the audience.
