Draymond Green’s ejection Tuesday night for punching Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns was at the top of a long list of basketball-related topics Steak Shapiro wanted to get to Wednesday morning.
The 92.9 The Game host was without co-hosts Rusty Mansell and Sandra Golden, so Shapiro admitted he could go feet-first into NBA talk.
“That’s the beauty there’s no Rusty, there’s no Sandy,” Steak said on The Steakhouse. “Nobody can give me the look when I start talking NBA.”
Shapiro compared it to a glazed-over look your kids give you when you’re lecturing them and they just want it to be over. He joked that Golden gets that look whenever the NBA gets brought up.
“That’s kind of like when I start talking NBA. I look to my left, and invariably they’re like doing their taxes or something,” he said.
But since it was just Steak on the mic for the day, he figured he might as well up the hoops discussion.
“Not only is it The Steakhouse, but Steak’s flying solo,” he said. “So yes, we are gonna talk NBA.”
