MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell hit a milestone with her program, Andrea Mitchell Reports, which has been on the air for 15 years. The network had her former colleague Judy Woodruff make a guest appearance on Monday to celebrate the achievement.
During their conversation, Mitchell reflected on what allowed her show to be on the air for almost two decades. She thanked those in charge at MSNBC for letting her show continue despite the changes during those 15 years.
“What it does kind of emphasize is continuity is important,” Mitchell told Woodruff. “And the fact that NBC News and MSNBC and all of our other platforms have supported me through all these changes in the front office [and] the back—I mean, we’ve had a lot of changes over all these years, and that this has been a constant.”
Furthermore, she thanked Woodruff for helping her in the early years with NBC News and navigating any challenges that came with starting at a major news media outlet. The MSNBC host also credited the show’s team.
“[Woodruff was] my first buddy here at NBC, getting me through some really tough years,” Mitchell added. “I mean, you’re only as good as your team. So it’s my producers [and] everyone.”
