ESPN Unleashes the MegaCast for College Football Playoff National Championship Game

ESPN is bringing back the Megacast for this year’s College Football Playoff National Championship game between Michigan and Washington, with 11 different streams available for football fans to choose from. Among the menu options available are the Field Pass with the Pat McAfee Show, the ESPNU Command Center, hometown radio feeds for both sides, a 4K Skycam, and the traditional broadcast if you’re feeling particularly frisky.

ESPN’s main telecast will headline the signature MegaCast production, led by Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit, with Holly Rowe and Molly McGrath on the sidelines. ESPN2 will feature the fan-favorite Field Pass with The Pat McAfee Show, which will be anchored by Pat McAfee, AJ Hawk, Darius Butler, Anthony DiGuilio, Connor Campbell and Ty Schmit. The Field Pass covering last weekend’s Michigan/Alabama game drew 1.4 million viewers, the best for any college football alternate broadcast on ESPN.

Elsewhere on the family of networks, ESPNU will show Command Center, a multi-angle presentation that will feature four main video feeds including the main telecast from ESPN, Skycam, and shots of each head coach throughout the telecast, with player and team stats shown intermittently. ESPNEWS will show SkyCast, a view from high above the action and behind the offense on most plays. Viewers with 4K capabilities on Comcast, DirecTV, Dish Network, Optimum, Sling TV, Verizon, and YouTube TV can watch this feed in 4K.

ESPN Deportes will air a Spanish-language telecast featuring Eduardo Varela, Pablo Viruega, Katia Castorena, and Sebastian M. Christensen announcing the action. ESPN Radio will feature Sean McDonough and Greg McElroy on the call, with Ian Fitzsimmons and Kris Budden on the sidelines. Lastly, the ESPN app will stream an All-22 view of the action, feeds with Michigan and Washington radio calls laid over the action, and pregame and halftime band coverage.
