Ben & Woods Lead 97.3 The Fan to Strong San Diego Fall Ratings Book

Despite a disappointing finish to the baseball season for the San Diego Padres, 97.3 The Fan continued to deliver stellar ratings across its various dayparts. In weekday prime (M-F 6a-7p) The Fan remained in first place for the quarter according to the Nielsen fall numbers. The station produced an 8.9 for the quarter, which was down three-tenths from the summer book.

Ben & Woods featuring Ben Higgins and Steven Woods were the station’s top performers for the quarter. The popular morning show retained first-place with an outstanding 13.6 share. That marked a 2.6 share improvement from the summer book when the duo recorded an 11.0 rating.

The midday slot during the book was occupied by John Kentera. The station and Kentera parted ways in December, drawing a lot of attention locally and across the industry. Though he’s no longer involved, the fall numbers do belong to Kentera. His final book featured a 7.3 share, second-place result in middays. That was down from an 8.2 share, first-place finish in the summer book.
