Don Lemon and Tucker Carlson were each fired on the same day in 2023. Now, in 2024, they’ll each host a digital video show on social media platform X.
On Tuesday, Lemon announced his return to the news media space with a new project on the platform owned by Elon Musk.
“I’ve heard you…and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer! My new media company’s first project is The Don Lemon Show,” the former CNN host wrote in a post to X. “It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and wherever you want it, streaming on the platforms where the conversations are happening. And you’ll find it first on X, the biggest space for free speech in the world. I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors. This is just the beginning so stay tuned.”
Lemon’s announcement that he’ll launch his show on X comes after Musk extended an offer for the former CNN host to create a program for the platform last May. The offer was extended after former Fox News host Tucker Carlson launched his Tucker on Twitter — now branded Tucker on X — program last spring.
Don Lemon isn’t the only news media host making a similar announcement today. Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) has announced a new program to air on the platform. Additionally, sports radio host Jim Rome made a similar announcement.
