Wednesday marked the conclusion of Fox News’ three-day marathon of candidate town halls in Des Moines, Iowa, that ended with good ratings for the network.
This week, FOX News wrapped up its coverage with a town hall event with former President Donald Trump, in which Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum served as moderators.
FOX News announced that the town hall event was the highest-rated telecast of 2024. Averaging 4.3 million viewers and 553,000 in the 25-54 demo during its 9-10 PM/ET airing, the town hall emerged as the most-watched program on linear television.
Early data from Nielsen Media Research indicates that it captured 53 percent of the cable news share in total viewers and 48 percent in the key demo. The debate encore from 12-1 AM ET (9-10 PM PT) pulled an average of 877,000 viewers and 180,000 in the 25-54 demo.
In the 2-3 AM ET (11 PM-12 AM PT) slot, the encore garnered 496,000 viewers and 100,000 in the 25-54 demo.
Overall, the town hall amassed 5.8 million viewers and 875,000 in the 25-54 demo with both encores combined.
