WBT to Host North Carolina 8th District Congressional Primary Debate

WBT has announced it will host a debate between Republican primary candidates who are seeking to be elected to North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District seat.

On Wednesday, January 31st, WBT morning hosts Bo Thompson and Beth Troutman will host candidates at Wingate University’s Batte Fine Arts Center for the on-air debate beginning at 7:30 PM. The debate will be preceded by a half-hour preview show hosted by the two moderators.

Additionally, WBT hosts Vince Coakley, Pete Kaliner, Brett Winterble, Brett Jensen, and News Director Mark Garrison will also ask questions of those vying for the seat.

The 90-minute debate will be broadcast on WBT and will also air commercial-free.

Currently, there are six candidates registered for the Republican Party primary, with Election Day being scheduled for Tuesday, March 5th.

Tickets to the event are free, but pre-registration for those wishing to attend is required.
