KNBR in San Francisco posted on X that its popular call-in show, Sports Phone, will be returning to the airwaves Monday through Friday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
At the end of November, new Program Director Adam Copeland had announced several changes at the San Francisco station due to budget cuts, which included scrapping the show which had been hosted by former Giants player F.P. Santangelo.
According to SFGate.com, the live nighttime call-in show had been heard on the station for more than 50 years. Santangelo first hosted the show starting in 2010 and then returned in 2022 to host what was then known as KNBR Tonight.
The show is scheduled to return tonight and while several fans of the show were hoping this meant the return of Santangelo as well, however, he has since been hired by KNBR rival station 95.7 The Game.
