Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is following the old adage of, “If you want something done right, do it yourself” with his latest announcement. He will host a new weekly show alongside fellow Barstool personalities Kirk Minihane and Ryan Whitney, where all parties have agreed to work at least 42 weeks of the year.
The unnamed show will air at 11:30 a.m. ET on Mondays, according to Portnoy on X. This news is likely in response to Portnoy’s other major tweet, where he outright canceled Barstool Radio until further notice.
During the Jan. 29 edition of Barstool Rundown, Portnoy attributed the cancelation to hosts Kelly Keegs and Francis Ellis not discussing the interoffice conflict between Keegs and “Ohio Tate,” another Barstool personality. Among other things, Portnoy speculated that the hosts either weren’t cut out for it or simply didn’t want to do the show anymore and tanked it to get out of hosting duties.
“To go into Barstool Radio and just talk about Taylor Swift for 40 minutes…they’re not cut out for it. Francis and Kelly are the wrong people, you’re not cut out for Barstool Radio, you’ll never be back on it, you’re out.”
During the Rundown, Portnoy named Minihane as the one person he thought could run Barstool Radio, but thought that he and Minihane doing a show together would mark, “the end of our relationship.” “At some point, we will want to kill each other,” Portnoy said. Throw in former NHLer Ryan Whitney, who is no stranger to arguing with Portnoy, and sparks will fly. Whitney said there’s already an argument brewing amongst the hosts in a group chat via X:
While Portnoy has announced a time and day of the week for the show, there’s been no official launch date for the new show.
