Spike Eskin was a guest this morning on the 94WIP Morning Show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie in Philadelphia. Eskin, the former 94WIP Program Director, is soon to return to the station as host of its afternoon drive show. He will depart his current position as Vice President of Programming for WFAN in New York and CBS Sports Radio.
Eskin will join co-hosts Ike Reese and Jack Fritz and be heard weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. He will not return, however, until a successor at WFAN and CBS Sports Radio has been found. A nationwide search is currently underway.
Joe DeCamara introuduced Eskin as “Future WIP talk show host, Spike Eskin,” to which he replied, “Such a weird thing to hear. Who would’ve guessed it, right? It’s even surprising to me to hear that sometimes, that I’m coming back as a host”
DeCamara said he still cannot believe it himself. “Stunning, stunning,” he said. “I’m like that woman on the ground, ‘Help me, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.’ I still cant get up.”
Before getting in to conversations about the Sixers and the Eagles, DeCamara asked Eskin if he had any update yet on when he might be starting back with WIP.
“No update,” Eskin said. “I do not have control over that. My curent boss…is on that, that is his job. I will just wait for the word when he gives it to me. So, I don’t have an update yet, but hopefully soon.”
