After declaring bankruptcy earlier this month, Audacy has begun instituting layoffs, first coming with its Pineapple Street Studios in its podcast division.
According to a report from Bloomberg, 12 employees, which represents 25% of the staff at the podcast company, will be laid off by parent company Audacy.
The cuts come after the company has previously instituted layoffs at one of its other podcast companies, Cadence13. The radio company had also previously explored a sale of Cadence13 before filing for a pre-packaged Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month.
Pineapple Street Studios was launched in 2016 before being purchased by the radio giant in 2019. The company elevated co-founder Jenna Weiss-Berman to the Executive Vice President of Podcasts role earlier this year.
Pineapple Street has produced podcasts with partners like HBO, Netflix, and AppleTV, among others in a vast portfolio.
