Eric Von Haessler: Ben Shapiro Having #1 Rap Song Shows Power of a Fan Base

In a very surprising development, The Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro is currently featured on the top rap song according to iTunes. 95.5 WSB afternoon host Eric Von Haessler believes there is a simple explanation for that.

Shapiro is featured on a song from Canadian rapper Tom McDonald called “Facts”, which doubles as a conservative political commentary. At the conclusion of his portion of the song, Ben Shapiro raps the lyrics “All my people download this, let’s get a Billboard number one.” And that’s what Eric Von Haessler believes happened.

“The only thing we learned from that is how easy it is to be number one, to get your song number one,” The Von Haessler Doctrine host said. “It’s all niche. You just have to have a fan base and point them in one direction. It’s not like Taylor Swift is gonna have 70 (number one’s).”

The topic was broached by Von Haessler as he ended his show Friday before passing the baton to Shelly Wynter on 95.5 WSB. Winter had been critical of Shapiro earlier in the week. Von Haessler then jokingly played a new “diss track” that AI wrote and performed in a Shapiro-like voice.
