KKFI host Lisa Lopez was killed by gunfire during the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City last week. Now, each radio station in the city is banding together to promote a GoFundMe account in her honor.
The Audacy, Steel City Media, Cumulus, Carter Media, Union Broadcasting, La Mega, and Public Radio stations in the city have joined together to promote the GoFundMe to help pay for final expenses for the radio host who was killed as shots rang out at the Victory parade.
The stations are sharing a message that reads “The Kansas City radio community is stronger together as we are asking for your support for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan.”
More than 5,000 people have donated to the account. More than $350,000 has been raised, including a pair of $50,000 donations from pop icon Taylor Swift.
