MSNBC has made a push into the live event space in recent months. The network has plans for a big event later this year.
According to comments made by MSNBC Senior Vice President of Content Strategy Rebecca Kutler to Axios, the network is planning a “ticketed event for hyper-fans” as the 2024 presidential election approaches.
Late last year, the network announced a series — MSNBC Live — would showcase high-profile interviews, expert forums, and panels with the addition of Luke Russert. The network hosted its first event Monday, with Russert speaking with a panel of on-air talent and guests previewing Super Tuesday and the State of the Union address later this week.
Monday’s event was the first of six to ten events the network has planned in the D.C. market.
Kutler told Axios the events will serve as “an example of where we see this multiplatform events business building toward.”
