Fox News presented extensive coverage of Super Tuesday, with anchor Bret Baier receiving criticism from some viewers for supposedly biting his lips while Laura Ingraham heaped praise on former President Donald Trump in the aftermath of his victory. He says that wasn’t the case at all.
One user on X posted a photo of Baier looking off to the side with his lips pursed together.
After that screenshot received more than 100,000 views on social media, Baier defended himself on the social media app.
“What does this show? I said the same thing later with Trace (Gallagher), I needed to get the chicken out of my teeth I ate during the commercial break,” Baire wrote. “But thanks for watching — closely.”
He subsequently posted a video of him echoing sentiments from Ingraham that Trump’s victory in the Republican primary is a “remarkable political comeback.”
When another user suggested the Fox News star is a “Trumper,” Bret Baier shot back “Or a complete obvious Never Trumper — or maybe just a news anchor.”
