NFL Network morning program Good Morning Football will be moving its production to Los Angeles, Calif., leaving New York City after parts of eight years in the area. The program will move into the NFL Media headquarters in Inglewood, situated within Hollywood Park near SoFi Stadium. The show, which currently features Jamie Erdahl, Jason McCourty, Kyle Brandt and Peter Schrager, is set to take a hiatus beginning on Friday, March 29 before relaunching later in the summer or the preseason at an exact date to be determined.
Upon the program’s relaunch in Los Angeles, it will add a new two-hour syndicated extension series. This show will have its own title and is not set to air on NFL Network, instead being distributed by Sony Pictures Television. While a deal has yet to be agreed upon, the new series is expected to include multiple syndication partners. This new show will be executive produced by Michael Davies, who currently serves as the executive producer of the popular quiz show Jeopardy!
This past NFL season, Good Morning Football attained its highest regular season viewership since 2017. Combined viewership for the show is up 16% year-over-year as well, gains in accordance with a record-setting season for the league. Super Bowl LVIII broadcast by Paramount Global’s CBS Sports division attained an average of 123.4 million viewers across platforms, and a global audience of 62.5 million tuned into the marquee event as well.
NFL Media studios in Inglewood, Calif. currently serve as the home of NFL GameDay and NFL Total Access. The state-of-the-art facility has 5,970 square feet of space for the programs and five soundstages, along with a revolving red, white and blue NFL logo, catwalk for talent and 360-degree camera views. The facility is situated within Hollywood Park, a mixed-use development created around SoFi Stadium, home of Super Bowl LXI and both the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams.
