Don Lemon is still discussing his interview with X owner Elon Musk which led to the cancellation of his contract with the platform.
To begin the second episode of his program, Lemon addressed the controversy surrounding his contentious conversation with the billionaire. He claimed the back-and-forth was exactly what Musk had envisioned with his purchase of the social media platform.
However, Lemon alleged Musk isn’t interested in the “free exchange of ideas”, as he has said time and time again.
“Did he really expect for me to simply lavish him with praise for an hour? If so, he could’ve sat down with Megyn Kelly or Tucker Carlson. But no, he opted to sit down with me — an independent journalist — to have a real conversation,” Lemon said. “I’m glad he did it, and if he chooses to watch the whole interview, he’ll come to appreciate just how valuable our discussion was.”
Don Lemon has vowed to continue producing his new digital video program in spite of the contract for the show being canceled by Musk. His second episode contained a conversation with podcast host Kara Swisher.
