KDKA has announced the promotion of PJ Kumanchik to serve as the Brand Manager of the Audacy Pittsburgh news/talk station.
Kumanchick — who has served as the station’s News Manager — will replace Dave LaBrozzi after he announced his retirement earlier this year.
An employee of the station for 35 years, PJ Kumanchik has served as a News Producer and Editor, Morning Show Producer, and Sports Producer, and previously worked as the Program Director of sister station at 93.7 The Fan. He also has been the Executive Producer of the Pitt Panther football broadcasts for the past nine seasons.
“I look forward to working with our leadership team, including Michael, to boost the momentum we have created at KDKA News Radio in the past couple of years,” said Kumanchik. “As the Voice of Pittsburgh, we will continue to provide news-driven talk that encourages interactions from our listeners.”
“I first want to congratulate Dave on an incredible career. It has been a privilege to work with him over the past two years,” said Audacy Pittsburgh Senior Vice President and Market Manager Michael Spacciapolli. “We’re delighted to promote PJ, a mainstay at KDKA for the last 35 years. The trust he has built within our organization and with listeners and partners makes him a great fit to steward this iconic brand into the future as we grow on many levels.”
