Critics of former President Donald Trump have often pointed to a behind-the-scenes Access Hollywood tape as proof he has committed sexual assault. Greg Kelly says he’s the only person besides Trump to ever hear the entire tape.
During The Greg Kelly Show Monday, the 77 WABC host argued that many in the news media and those who have been critical of Trump for his “grab ’em by the p—-” statements — which were released in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election he won — to host Billy Bush have misconstrued the comments.
“I am going to let you in on a little secret about that Access Hollywood tape. You have been lied to about the whole thing. By everybody,” Kelly said. “Maybe lie is the wrong word. Anybody who’s talked about this tape — in the history of this tape — has been mistaken.
“There are only two people who have gotten it right, who have actually evaluated this type correctly. And that would be me, and that would be Donald Trump. We are the only ones who actually heard what was on this tape and relate it accurately.”
After playing a portion of the tape Monday afternoon, Kelly argued “You probably have never heard about this tape, which is there for all of us to hear and all of us to comprehend but we did not allow ourselves to hear it. We were not told about it — or wasn’t highlighted…The most significant part of this tape is 1000% exculpatory for Donald Trump.”
