101 KXL News Director Jim Ferretti has announced he has departed the Alpha Media Portland news/talk station.
Ferretti joined the station as a reporter and producer in August 2010. He eventually rose to Assistant News Director in 2016 before taking the News Director role at 101 KXL in June 2020, which he continued to hold until his exit.
Additionally, Ferretti had been serving as the Content Director of the station in an interim role as the station looked for a new leader for the brand and sister station 750 The Game.
“After more than 20 years on the air and behind the scenes on radio in Portland, company management and I agreed it was time to move on. I thank the people who started Alpha Media all those years ago and the vision they laid out. I have worked alongside some truly amazing people,” Ferretti said.
“While it’s not clear where I go from here, one thing is for sure. I will spend some quality time reconnecting with my family who have paid the price from my dedication to my career.”
