It’s no secret that MSNBC host Jen Psaki doesn’t have an affinity for Fox News. And she said as much in a recent interview.

While promoting her new book in a forum hosted by The Ankler, Psaki was asked about her relationship with Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy. The two often clashed during Psaki’s time as the White House Press Secretary for President Joe Biden. However, Psaki said she held no animosity toward the reporter.

“People often ask me, ‘How much did you hate that guy?’ and I’m always like ‘No, I didn’t hate him at all,'” she said. “I feel like it would be a real mind-bend to work for Fox. It feels like a traumatizing experience he has to live through every day. That aside, it’s quite predictable what they were going to ask. If there was a winding roundabout of ‘migrants at the border here to kill all of you,’ you knew they were going to ask about immigration that day.

“So I didn’t see it as necessarily winning the argument with him as much as using it as a forum to provide what our points were, right? When I came in, we followed Trump and an administration that was like, ‘inject bleach, you’re all liars, we hate the media,’ so there was a very low bar for me.”

In 2022, Psaki was famously asked if Doocy was a “stupid son of a bitch” or if he just played one on TV. She responded by saying that he worked for a network “that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual, including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a bitch.”

Tuesday morning, Doocy appeared on FOX & Friends and touched on the comments, stating — like Psaki — he harbored no ill will in the professional relationship.

“I was raised to be a nice guy,” he stated. “I like to think I’m pretty affable, but it goes to show she really liked to fight in the briefing room. She was there to fight for and go on offense for President Biden. She did her job very well, and it was great doing some briefing room combat with her from time to time.”

On her final day working in the Biden White House, Psaki and Doocy shared a photo together, with the Fox News correspondent wishing Jen Psaki well in her next endeavor.
