Fox News late-night host Greg Gutfeld has seen strong success with his Gutfeld! program. Grace Curley believes it’s even more impressive when you consider the era in which he’s succeeding.
Late-night TV ratings, outside of Gutfeld’s show, are down across the board. Venerable programs like NBC’s The Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, have dropped considerably, while network challengers from Jimmy Kimmell and Stephen Colbert struggled to regain their footing in the competitive ratings.
During The Grace Curley Show, the Boston-based host gave the Fox News star his props.
“Bill Maher was on with Greg Gutfeld, which is a funny combination because Greg Gutfeld now has a very successful show on late night. Usually, those two things don’t go hand in hand: a late-night show and actual ratings,” said Curley. “Those are usually contradictory.”
Gutfeld, the self-professed “King of Late-Night”, recently saw the highest-rated show in his program’s history with the appearance by Maher. Monday’s episode with the comedian averaged 2.9 million viewers, outpacing other shows in the genre.
