Maria Taylor, host of Football Night in America and Big Ten Saturday Night for NBC Sports, will be contributing to NBCUniversal coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 as its late night host. In working her third Olympic assignment with the company, she will host the late night program on NBC and Peacock from different locations throughout the city of Paris, France. In this endeavor, she will look to capture the essence of the area and competition while also presenting key storylines from throughout the day. This show will commence following local news in all time zones around the United States on NBC stations and will also be available to watch on Peacock.
Outside of this role, Taylor will also be reporting from the Team USA boat as it proceeds down the River Seine during the Opening Ceremony on July 26 broadcasting on NBC and Peacock. Instead of utilizing a stadium for the Opening Ceremony, the International Olympic Committee and organizers of the event are utilizing the River Seine into the stage. A four-mile long flotilla of approximately 100 boats will carry the athletes from over 200 countries past spectators cheering them on that finishes at the Eiffel Tower.
“We’re excited that Maria, who anchors the most watched studio show in sports on NFL Sundays, will host our Late Night show with one of the world’s greatest cities as her stage,” Molly Solomon, executive producer and president of NBC Olympics Production, said in a statement. “Each night under the Parisian lights, she will put her stamp on the day, with a look at the must-watch moments and best events, and some surprise guests stopping by.”
“Ever since I attended the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, it was a dream of mine to compete in the Games, which has now evolved to covering them,” Taylor said in a statement. “As host of the Late Night show, I’m excited to tell the best stories of the day while moving about the city and hosting from the venues, cafes, plazas, and famous landmarks of Paris, one of the world’s most inspirational cities.”
Taylor will be in Paris this week to host the semifinals and finals coverage of Roland-Garros tennis matches this Thursday through Sunday. Moreover, she will anchor on-site coverage for these matches and interview both the women’s and men’s champions on Court Philippe-Chatrier at the conclusion of the tournaments.
NBCUniversal previously announced several facets of its coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, including Mike Tirico, Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning hosting the Opening Ceremony. The company will also present a whiparound show on Peacock as part of its coverage titled Gold Zone, which will be hosted by Scott Hanson, Andrew Siciliano, Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila. Peacock will also broadcast every sport and event within the Olympics for the first time in its history, including all 329 medal events and full event replays. Coverage of Team USA Basketball will feature Noah Eagle as the primary play-by-play voice, along with analysts Dwyane Wade and LaChina Robinson.
