Wolfman Jack was a legendary radio host before his 1995 death. Despite being gone for nearly 30 years, his radio efforts live on, and will be heard on WGN Radio in Chicago.
The Wolfman Jack Radio Show will be heard on Sundays from 2-5 AM on the Chicago news/talk station. The program replaces The Sinatra Hours with Dave Plier in the WGN lineup. That show aired its final episode Sunday after originally debuting in 2019.
During his heyday, Wolfman Jack’s radio show was heard on more than 2000 stations in 53 countries. After dying from a heart attack in 1995 at 57, a company was formed to digitize his old radio shows from cassette tapes. From his personal library, Wolfman Jack Licensing was born, and his program is now heard on various stations throughout the country.
The show will “feature Wolfman’s hilarious comedy bits, funny phone calls, crazy characters, celebrity interviews and music from the 60s and 70s,” according to WGN.
