Bloomberg News has reported that FIFA is looking to raise up to $2 billion in order to expand its streaming service, FIFA+. The service was launched in 2022 and is a free ad-supported service which allows users to live stream soccer matches. It also showcases major FIFA World Cup matches from the past, documentaries and more.
According to the report, FIFA is working with UBS Group AG to raise between $1 billion and $2 billion and that a formal fundraising process is expected to kick off in July.
Bloomberg says the fundraising is expected to target financial investors in the U.S. and Middle East.
FIFA is the world governing body of soccer, and its membership includes more than 200 national soccer associations.
