iHeartMedia Des Moines Director of Spoken Word Programming Peter Thiele has exited the cluster, including Newsradio 1040 WHO. Market President Seth Pitkin confirmed the news in an email earlier today to all staff.
Thiele joined the group earlier this year after departing his role as Program Director of KZRG for Zimmer Communications in Joplin, Missouri.
A longtime news/talk radio programmer, Thiele has led stations in New York City, San Francisco, Little Rock, Greenville, and Huntsville in addition to his roles in Des Moines and Joplin.
Additionally, he worked at stations in Minneapolis and San Antonio in a variety of roles.
As Director of Spoken Work Programming for iHeartMedia Des Moines, Peter Thiele also had oversight of sports talk station KXNO.
