On Friday, ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos hosted an interview with President Biden. He was apparently unimpressed by the performance.

On Tuesday, a video on TMZ showed a passerby asking the news anchor if Biden should step down or stay in the race.

Stephanopoulos bluntly replied “I don’t think he can serve four more years,” before the interaction ended.

When the clip went viral, both ABC News and George Stephanopoulos released statements, apologizing for the situation.

“Earlier today, I responded to a question from a passerby. I shouldn’t have,” the anchor stated.

Meanwhile, ABC News told the gossip site “George expressed his own point of view and not the position of ABC News.”

President Biden has come under pressure from many inside the Democratic Party to step aside from the campaign since his performance in the first presidential debate late last month. In his interview with Stephanopoulos last week, he maintained that he will continue the race and that doing his best is all matters to him at the end of the day.
