Bill Belichick, legendary head coach and general manager of the New England Patriots, is joining Inside the NFL as an analyst for the upcoming season on The CW Network, which will begin on Friday, Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. EST. Belichick will join host Ryan Clark and analysts Chad Johnson and Chris Long on the panel as they discuss important storylines and trends taking place in the National Football League. Belichick will also appear weekly on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show and for broadcasts of Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli on ESPN2.
“I’m thrilled to join my new team at NFL Films and to work on such a historic television franchise,” Bill Belichick said in a statement. “I’ve always appreciated ‘Inside the NFL’s’ depth of analysis, and I hope to bring the same detailed insight to The CW by talking real football with real pros – Ryan, Chris and Chad – this coming season.”
Over 24 seasons as the head coach of the New England Patriots, the team won nine AFC championships and six Super Bowl championships. Before coaching for the Patriots, he worked as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and won two Super Bowls as the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. This year will mark the 50th straight season in which Belichick is working in the National Football League.
“Bill Belichick joining ‘Inside the NFL’ is a true game-changer for this storied franchise and The CW,” Dennis Miller, president of The CW Network, said in a statement. “Not only is he one of the most accomplished coaches in NFL history, but his knowledge and passion for football is truly unmatched. Fans will now get the chance to hear his insights and better understand the nuances of the game from the master himself. We cannot wait for Bill, Ryan, Chad and Chris to deliver a championship-caliber show all season long.”
The CW Network acquired broadcasting rights for Inside the NFL last year after the program had aired on Showtime and Paramount+ in the previous season. Before that time, the show was on HBO for 31 years and established itself as a staple of NFL programming. Throughout the NFL playoffs, the show aired five episodes Wednesday nights exclusively on Netflix ahead of the streaming platform inking a broadcast deal to air NFL games on Christmas Day. The NFL Films production is entering its 48th season on the air and airs on Friday nights throughout the season.
