Jac Collinsworth has been added to the hosting rotation of Gold Zone, the whiparound show airing on Peacock throughout NBCUniversal’s coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Collinsworth, the co-host of Football Night in America on location each week preceding Sunday Night Football and play-by-play announcer across NBC Sports’ college football and basketball coverage, is returning for his third Olympics assignment.
In the past, Collinsworth served as a social media correspondent at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and an on-location contributor for the Tokyo Tonight show on Peacock at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Collinsworth is replacing Akbar Gbajabiamila on the co-hosting roster, which was announced after Gbajabiamila was named a new co-host of Good Morning Football on NFL Network resuming on July 29.
Collinsworth will join Scott Hanson, Andrew Siciliano and Matt Iseman as hosts of the Gold Zone whiparound program. The program will provide viewers with the most enthralling moments throughout the Olympic Games, where up to 40 events could be occurring simultaneously. This daily live show will bring fans through the trials and tribulations at the Olympic Games, viewing events from across its oeuvre of sports and competition. Additionally, the offering will provide viewers with a comprehensive look at the action from across the Games throughout its duration from July 27 to Aug. 10. Moreover, hosts of the program will be joined by special guests throughout the broadcasts each day.
The program will be available to stream live on Peacock beginning at 7 a.m. EST, along with NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app through the “TV Everywhere” functionality for consumers who have pay television subscriptions. For the first time in its history, Peacock will stream every sport and event during the Olympic Games Paris 2024, including all 329 medal events and full-event replays. The streaming application will also have unique curated video clips and all NBC programming, along with daily recaps narrated by an A.I. replication of the voice of broadcaster Al Michaels, who remains with the company in an emeritus role.
