Newsmax has seen a steady uptick in cable news viewing in the last calendar year. In fact, the conservative cable channel has seen gains in virtually every metric.
In the first six months of 2024, Newsmax saw a 36% increase in all-day viewing. In primetime, the network saw a 41% uptick compared to the previous year. The growth in both metrics topped all of cable news, with every other network featuring single-digit growth in the sectors.
While the channel was up dramatically in the primetime ratings, it did experience a change in the daypart with the exit of Eric Bolling from the lineup in late May.
The network’s daytime line — featuring The National Report, Newsline, American Agenda, The Chris Salcedo Show, Carl Higbie Frontline, and The Record with Greta Van Susteren — featured a 30% increase in viewing during the timeframe.
With its ratings finish in the first half of the calendar year, Newsmax as the fourth most-watched cable news network behind Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN. Additionally, it finished as the seventh most-watched cable network overall in total viewers from 9 AM-8 PM.
