The ACC Network has announced a variety of programming initiatives and updates to its talent roster as the college football season quickly approaches. Last week, the ESPN-owned network announced Taylor Tannebaum as the new host of ACC Huddle, and she will be joined by analysts Eric Mac Lain, EJ Manuel, Mark Richt and Eddie Royal every Saturday from the location of the ACC Primetime Football game. Tannebaum and Manuel will be live from Dublin, Ireland for the 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Week 0 from Aviva Stadium on Sat. Aug 24 as Florida State and Georgia Tech open the season. The rest of ACC Huddle show members, in addition to host Justin Walters, will be live from the ESPN Bristol studios contributing to the coverage as well. The matchup will also feature a multi-angle Command Center presentation of the game with up to four different vantage points and player and team statistics concurrent with game action in real time.
The lead broadcast team for ACC Primetime Football will retain longtime play-by-play announcer Wes Durham while introducing two new members of the crew. ESPN college football analyst and national recruiting director Tom Luginbill will be the new game analyst for ACC Primetime Football broadcasts in the fall. Luginbill is a former Georgia Tech quarterback who has been a member of ESPN since 2005, spending the last decade as a college football analyst for ABC and ESPN. Dana Boyle, who joined ESPN and ACC Network in 2020, has been named the sideline reporter for the live game broadcasts. Boyle was an All-ACC lacrosse player for the Virginia Cavaliers and has served as a lacrosse analyst and sideline reporter for ESPN and the ACC Network. The broadcast team will make its debut on Aug. 31 when Georgia Tech faces Georgia State from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. at 8 p.m. EST.
In addition to ACC Huddle, the ACC PM program will be on the road throughout the season for editions of the program. Show host Mark Packer will work with a rotation of co-hosts such as Tom Lunginbill, Taylor Tannebaum and Justin Walters. The program will continue to bring viewers news and commentary around the conference on weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. EST on the ACC Network. Friday editions will take place from ACC campus sites in the fall, while Monday through Thursday editions will emanate from Packer’s basement studio in Charlotte, N.C. and the ACC Network studio in Bristol, Conn. Both shows will be live from Raleigh, N.C. on Thursday, Aug. 29 before Western Carolina and NC State play that night at 7 p.m. EST on ACC Network. Two days later, the programs will be in Atlanta for the ACC Primetime Football broadcast between Georgia Tech and Georgia State.
Ahead of the start of the regular season, the ACC Network will engage in a three-week, 17-school road trip. This will begin on Monday, July 29 at Florida State in Tallahassee and conclude on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from Louisville. New members of the ACC will be spotlighted within the road trip, including Stanford University on July 31, the University of California, Berkley on Aug. 2 and Southern Methodist University on Aug. 6. ACC Network will feature several personalities throughout the venture, some of whom include Andrea Adelson, Roddy Jones, Mark Richt, Taylor Tannebaum and Justin Walters.
The ACC Network’s All Access series features the Syracuse Orange and will premiere on Monday, Aug. 12 immediately after the team is featured as part of ACC Network Football Road Trip. This three-part series will grant consumers access within the program as first-year head coach Fran Brown attempts to lead the team to a conference championship. In the past, the series has featured several ACC football programs such as North Carolina, Louisville, Miami and NC State. The network will also start filming for a new season of 3-Day Weekend, its travel series produced by Susie Films in partnership with ESPN. Hosted by Jess Roy, the show will provide fans with a look at ACC towns through exploring historic locations and eminent restaurants and establishments.
