Many news/talk radio programs — especially nationally syndicated shows — don’t feature as many listener phone calls as previously heard in the format. But Salem Radio Network host Mike Gallagher wants listeners to remain a staple of his program.
During The Mike Gallagher Show Monday, the nationally syndicated host noted that he thought it was important for callers of his show to phone the program and share their thoughts on the announcement that President Joe Biden would step aside from his re-election campaign.
He added that while other programs like to feature high-profile guests, he’ll always put his listeners in the forefront.
“Everybody else likes to talk to talking heads and authors and everything, politicians. I like to talk to the American people. This is a caller-driven show and I want to put your voice front and center,” Gallagher said to listeners Monday. “You and I’ve been through a lot together. Longtime listeners have been with me through 9/11. Longtime listeners have been with me through some personal tragedy. We’ve been together in the highs and the lows. And here we are today, watching history be made.”
Gallagher added he wants his phone lines filled with callers into the program so he can feature their voices and opinions on the topics that matter most to American citizens.
