CNN has announced it is promoting Donie O’Sullivan to the role of Senior Correspondent.
He joined the network in 2016 as a producer in its Social Discovery team, where he worked in finding and verifying social media content and breaking news from around the globe. He then ascended to the role of technology reporter for CNN Business where he reported extensively on how social media platforms handled misinformation, extremism, and objection content on its apps.
During his tenure with CNN, he received a 2024 Emmy nomination for his reporting on the effect social media platforms and conspiracy theories have had on American families.
In his new role, he’ll continue to report across all platforms for the network, including coverage of the 2024 election from a digital aspect. He’ll also contribute to The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper on an in-depth special later this fall.
