“Weather Dave” Aiken is out as co-host of Dick Broadcasting’s syndicated “2 Guys Names Chris” morning show. In addition, he was APD/MD and PM Driver on WKRR (Rock 92)/Greensboro, NC.
The remaining Chris, Chris Kelly, said on this morning’s show, “Yesterday, we had a very bad day here; a lot of good people lost their jobs yesterday. And one of them is Dave Aiken. Dave is fine; this is not a funeral; we did not know that was going to happen until yesterday, so it was a really tough time for us. I really didn’t expect to be emotional about this. He has been such a major part of our team for twenty years so that’s a really hard thing for us to go through. He’s not going to be here anymore, and we didn’t get a chance to say how much we appreciate him.”
Aiken, who had been with the station since 2003, is reported to be one of several staff cuts happening across the company’s markets. No other names are available at this time.
