97.5 The Fanatic announced the return of longtime host Mike Missanelli to its lineup Friday, with morning show host John Kincade celebrating the move.

During Kincade and Salciunas Friday, the hosts welcomed Missanelli to the program to introduce that he’ll be taking over the 10 AM-2 PM that was previously held by Bob Cooney before he departed the Beasley Media Group-owned station earlier this week.

Kincade — a Philadelphia native — joked that his brother’s favorite radio host in the city was back on the airwaves. “My brother … is probably celebrating that his favorite talk show host in the history of this city — his own brother will never reach those levels — is on the microphone.”

John Kincade continued to welcome Mike Missanelli back to the station by sharing his opinion that the longtime host has been a foundational piece of the Philadelphia sports talk station.

“It is good to see you. So the key card worked?” Kincade joked. “A new chapter,” Kincade said of the upcoming new show, “of a place — I know that I told you this when I chose to come here — you helped build. You were literally a cornerstone of this place.”

Missanelli spent 15 years at 97.5 The Fanatic, going back to before the station utilized the brand when it was heard only on the AM dial. The Mike Missanelli Show will return on Monday, August 12th.
