iHeartMedia has made changes throughout Iowa which will see programming from their Des Moines sports station, KXnO, aired in four other markets where they own stations in the state. The local shows which air in Des Moines will now be heard in Sioux City, Davenport, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids and will go by the Iowa Sports Radio Network.
“Massive day here in the state of Iowa!” wrote afternoon drive co-host Sean Roberts on X. “1460 KXnO is now syndicated throughout the entire state…Incredible…Let’s go!”
The stations adding the programming are 620 AM KMNS (Sioux City), 1230 AM WFXN (Davenport), 800 AM KXIC (Iowa City) and 95.7 FM KOSY (Cedar Rapids).
The local shows include The Morning Rush with Travis Justice and Ross Peterson, Miller and Condon and The Drive with Heather Burnside and Sean Roberts.
“Good morning, Des Moines, good morning, Davenport, good morning, Cedar Rapids, good morning, Iowa City, and good morning, Sioux City,” said morning host Travis Justice as the network kicked off this morning. “This is the Morning Rush on the Iowa Sports Radio Network.”
Peterson added, “We should let people know why things sound a little bit different here in Des Moines, because our KXnO listeners that have been listening to us here in Des Moines for 20 years now, that was a little bit of a different start to the day, and we’re going to be calling The Morning Rush on the Iowa Sports Radio Network a little bit different now.”
“We are, because we’re actually now talking to people in Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Sioux City, so if you’re hearing us for the first time, buckle up,” said Justice.
“Yeah, you’re going to love us,” added Peterson.
The two also said the afternoon show with Burnside and Roberts will add an additional hour with the switch and go weekdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
