Townsquare Media has announced a new brand for its Missoula sports radio station to KGRIZ after signing a new deal to become the radio flagship of the University of Montana Grizzlies.
Montana Grizzlies football and men’s and women’s basketball games will now be heard on KGRZ 1450/92.7 as part of a seven-year deal between the company and the University. They were previously heard on news/talk sister station KGVO.
“As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we’re also proud to introduce our newly rebranded KGRIZ,” Market President Scott Richman said in a news release. “Together, we look forward to amplifying the spirit of Grizzly Athletics and delivering exceptional coverage to our dedicated fans and community.”
“We are excited to extend our relationship with Townsquare Media to bring Griz fans even more coverage of our student-athletes, coaches, and programs,” added Montana Director of Athletics Kent Haslam. “Townsquare and KGVO have been great partners for many years, and expanding our presence with daily coverage on KGRIZ will truly give us some of the best and most in-depth content in the FCS.”
The station will continue to air the FOX Sports Radio lineup, but has added an afternoon show from 5-6 PM called The Daily Drive with Ace Sauerwein. The show will feature Riley Corcoran, radio voice of the Grizzlies, on the program each Monday and Thursday throughout the season.
