Mark Schlereth to Remain with Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan Mornings; Will Join Mike Evans After FS1 Show

"So, I get to the best of both worlds. I get to do a full-time television show, and I get to do radio with Mike Evans,"

After news came out that FS1 was making changes to its weekday lineup and that the new morning show would consist of Craig Carton, Danny Parkins and Mark Schlereth, there were some unanswered questions. One of those was what would happen to Schlereth’s Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan morning show he has done the past eight years with Mike Evans. That question has now been answered as Schlereth announced this morning he will continue on with the show but will join the show at the halfway point when his television duties in New York are over.

Schlereth explained, “[FOX Sports] reached out to me like two weeks ago, just out of the blue, and wanted me to do a television show, a full-time television show in New York City. It’s going to be called Breakfast Ball, and it starts on Monday. It was one of those situations where I was like, I’ll see what it looks like. And it actually looked really intriguing, and they made me an offer that I couldn’t say no to.”

Schlereth then explained he has already moved to New York City, but regardless, he still wanted to continue doing the radio show, so they found a way to make it all work together.

“The station has been so important to me, this program has been so important to me,” Schlereth said. “…The relationship with everybody at Bonneville and 104.3 The Fan, it’s just been a wild, great eight years together. And, you know, I didn’t want that to end. So, here’s the new rub…What we’ll do is I will join the program for two hours every day from 8 to 10. So, I’ll miss the first two hours doing a television show, but then I will right there, my usual stupid self, from 8 to 10 every day.

“So, I get to the best of both worlds. I get to do a full-time television show, and I get to do radio with Mike Evans, the great Mike Evans. So anyhow, that’s kind of what’s going on in my life. And I just really, really appreciate everybody at this station…It’s an unbelievable opportunity and I’m really looking forward to doing it.”

Evans added, “And what I love is that knowing how you are, that after two hours of TV, you’re going to come flying into this show. Coming in hot! You’ll have that TV caffeinated buzz that you’ll be riding that wave right into our two hours. So, I have no doubt that you will be full show pony mode right from the start.”

Evans later added, “It’s bittersweet, of course. I’m glad that I have you for two hours. I’ve gotten used to the four, but this is an amazing opportunity for you. Hey, listen. Should the rest of the country be deprived of a chance to see those piercing blue eyes and porcelain skin of yours? Of course not. This is a case where everybody wins.”
